What happens to what you type
Every calculation runs in your browser. Salaries, ratings and settings are kept in your browser's local storage so a refresh doesn't lose your scenario — they are never uploaded, and there are no accounts. Share links encode your scenario in the URL fragment (the part after #), which browsers never send to any server — so a shared scenario travels person-to-person, not through us. The downloadable share card is drawn on your device and saved straight to it, the same way a screenshot would be. Even the fonts are bundled with the site, so until you accept analytics below, this site makes no third-party requests at all.
Analytics — only with your consent
We ask before loading Google Analytics (via Firebase). If you decline — or simply ignore the prompt — nothing from Google ever loads and the site works identically. If you accept, Google sets its usual analytics identifiers and we record coarse interaction events only: pages viewed, which verdict band a comparison landed in, share-link copies, share-card downloads, and taps on the "show the working" explainers. Never any figure you type, never a rating, and never the share-link fragment. Ad personalisation signals are switched off. To change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser — the prompt will ask again.
Who we are, and your rights
Greener (isthegrassgreener.com) is an independent site; you can reach us at info@isthegrassgreener.com. Because there are no accounts and nothing you type is uploaded, we hold no personal data about you to access, correct or delete — your scenario lives in your browser, and removing it is as simple as clearing this site's data. If you accepted analytics, those consent-based events sit in Google Analytics under its standard retention and contain no figures, ratings or identifiers we could tie back to you. If you email us, we keep the correspondence only as long as the conversation needs.
